Larry Grattan

Team Leader

Larry graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate. Currently, he works as a Real Estate Broker and Property Manager. He is passionate about designing and building devices, and has been doing so for a very long time. He has been adviser to the Tech Challenge team since its creation six years ago. He taught the team everything they know from super gluing a piece of wood to soldering circuit boards. Larry’s hobbies include diving, the flying of small planes, and RC model airplanes.

Jeffrey Grattan

Mechanical Engineer/ Project Manager

Jeff is a Senior at Westmont High School where he is enrolled in Advanced Placement Chemistry and Advanced Placement Calculus. Jeff plays on both the Offensive and Defensive Line for the Warrior football team. Jeff has actively participated in the San Jose Tech Museum’s annual “Tech Challenge” for the past six years. He started the team in the fifth grade. He has a fascination with new advances in technology, mathematics, and aerospace engineering. He aspires to be an aeronautical engineer or statistician upon completion of college.

Joe Carolan

Mechanical Engineer

Joe is a Senior at Westmont High School where he plays quarterback and wide receiver on the Warrior football team. He is enrolled in Advanced Placement Calculus, as well as other courses. For six years he has competed in the annual San Jose Tech Museum of Innovation’s “Tech Challenge.” Joe has a passion for mechanical engineering as well as competition.

Rohan Dixit

Public Relations Coordinator

Rohan is the newest member to Team “Technology Tycoons.” He is a Senior at Westmont High School where he writes for the school newspaper. He is enrolled in Advanced Placement English and Advanced Placement Calculus. He decided to join the team this year because he is fascinated with various types of technology and has a passion for learning new things.

Evan Johnson

Co-Project Manager

Evan is a senior at Westmont High School where he is heavily involved in the school’s leadership organization. He is enrolled in Advanced Placement English, Advanced Placement Calculus and Advanced Placement Government. He has participated in the annual San Jose Tech Museum of Innovation’s “Tech Challenge” for two years. In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking, skiing and playing tennis. Evan possesses a desire for technical leadership, as well as, a fascination with technology.

Mithil Munshi

Information Technology

Mithil is a Senior at Westmont High School where he is enrolled in Advanced Placement Chemistry, Advanced Placement Statistics, and Advanced Placement English. He also tutors current calculus students. His hobbies include tennis, computer construction, and martial arts. Mithil has also competed in the the San Jose Tech Museum’s annual “Tech Challenge” for four years. He has a fascination with new technology.

Kevin Jani

Mechanical Engineer

Kevin is the most recent member to Team “Technology Tycoons.” He is an upcoming junior at Branham High school. He is currently enrolled in English 3 honors and is also active in the recycling and octagon clubs. Kevin also participates in cross country and track and field for his school where he dominates in the mile and half-mile events. His ambitions include the understanding of higher technology and the exploration of alternative energy.
